    Responsibilities

    POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include assisting the department manager in various activities that align with the department’s key performance indicators (KPIs). The intern will complete assigned project(s) and present successes in an end of summer presentation.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Intern will assist in the overall warehouse inventory management program including cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, product recovery process, small package orders and returns processes.
    • Intern will learn these processes first hand and be expected to make recommendations to improve the processes
    • Evaluate Standard Operating Procedures for all warehousing areas to determine effectiveness.
    • Make recommendations to improve Perform customer delivery ride-alongs and evaluate receiving expectations as they relate to warehouse and transportation SOP’s.
    • Support Warehouse Management System implementation - necessary actions TBD
    • Evaluate current driver Start of Day and End of Day operations to identify opportunities to eliminate lost time and waste
    • Participate in team activities that account for the success of the overall department performance
    • Deliver expected results on assigned projects with guidance from department management
    • Complete an end of summer presentation outlining successes and opportunities
    • Meet weekly with department management and company mentor
    • Attend bi-weekly lunch and learn sessions (if applicable)
    • Participate in social and team bonding events with other interns

    Qualifications

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Current enrollment in a 4 year college working toward an bachelor degree
    • Students entering their senior year are preferred
    • Moderate to excellent computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
