The Director of Maintenance is responsible for managing the Maintenance & Trades team at Clemens Food Group�s new Coldwater, Michigan fresh pork facility. For the first 1-2 years of employment the Director of Maintenance will work primarily out of Clemens Food Group�s corporate offices in Hatfield, PA to support start-up efforts for the Coldwater plant and to work closely with the Maintenance team at Hatfield. Once the Coldwater plant is approaching start-up, the Director of Maintenance will transition full-time to Coldwater, Michigan. The Director of Maintenance will achieve goals leading Maintenance Business practices in key areas: Team Building - Priority 1 - 35% � Create a professional environment where Maintenance and Reliability is a valued solutions partner. � Establish maintenance business practices that create competencies aligned to achieving corporate initiatives. � Create and coach Superintendents to own their personal development. Meet to establish development objectives and coach actions to close gaps and achieve growth and development. � Lead weekly staff meetings with focus on performance targets and continuous improvement. � Create atmosphere where change is supported as growth opportunity through use of the company change management process. � Review and refine the maintenance organizational structure for continued business improvement � Establish succession plans, conduct hiring activities and define Onboarding plans. Coach the use throughout all organizational levels. � Ensure processes for Team Member�s recognition are consistent and effective in identifying achievements, potential for growth and future leaders. � Participate in creating a network and pipeline for future team members either internally or through external sources such as trade schools, professional associations and career day representation. � Establish plans for improving skills and business competencies through training, learning and external networking through professional associations. Performance Management - Priority 2 - 25% � Review departmental action plans with superintendent. Support / coach correct plans that form desired habits and goal achievements. Hold superintendents accountable to action items. � Ensure training and implementation of all regulatory/ compliance objectives are met � Ensure Key Performance Indicators are drivers for creation of habit and practices improvement plans and actions � Review functional budgets and use as a resource to drive improvement � Ensure the capital project process is followed and cost are under control � Ensure consistent processes, SOPs and documentation are in place to manage the areas � Ensure teams have identified short term goals/ actions to improve results � Manage positive Vendor relationships � Perform audits to monitor superintendent and department performance Process Management - Priority 3 - 20% � Create the environment where Root Cause Analysis is supported and leads failure elimination � Establish and continuously improving planning and scheduling as a means to lower costs and improve uptime � Use and evolve necessary KPIs as a common language and understanding of progress toward achieving Key Expectations. � Identify and implement best practices through industry awareness, networking, technical periodicals, external plant visits and professional associations. � Establish standards for design in providing justification for all requested capital projects � Align resources for development of Standard Operating Procedures including HACCP, SQF, and other requirements including our Quality Control Programs � Approve staffing needs and work with HR to evaluate expected business changes � Lead cross-functional problem solving efforts for complex issues � Leverage strategic planning processes by establishing initiatives and rocks(quarterly deliverables) Team CFG - Priority 4 - 20% � Represent Maintenance as the technical expert in providing solutions support and communicating achievements, challenges and strategies � Support Research and Development and commercialization of new products. � Participate on company initiative team(s) � Present relevant production information across all levels of organization when necessary � Attend participate and or lead in leadership development opportunities � Participate in organizational meetings (i.e., sanitation, USDA, Safety, Staff, Order Fill, CI, etc.)

    Responsibilities

    Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) CMRP preferred Able to communicate knowledge and experience as Maintenance business leader. 5 Years Maintenance management experience preferred including front line supervision and staff management Prior experience in customer facing positions preferred Excellent written/verbal communication/presentation skills Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to function at a high level within a team environment Ability to work independently and with individuals from multiple disciplines and with varying levels of experience Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills (proficiency in MS Access a plus) Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
