POSITION DESCRIPTION: This training position opens the door for a career in a vertically coordinated sixth-generation family owned food company, who has proudly served its community for over 115 years. Our training program provides exposure to the inner workings of our Supply Chain. Get ready to put your education and skills to work; you will be given the opportunity to interact with all facets of the business from day one. The first 90 days will give you a broad overview of the variety of areas within our Supply Chain which includes:

Work with hog production team to gain an understanding of our hog supply philosophy, sourcing, genetics, feed, cost relationships and points of differentiation among our competitors.
Gain an understanding of the forward planning process for processed and fresh operations in addition to the finite daily scheduling activities that drive the plants operations. Also investigate and provide recommendations for our supply chain customer service measurements, metrics and kpi's.
Collaborate with our Operations Team to gain an understanding of product flow throughout the HQM facility including Harvest, Cut, Boning, Processed Meats, Packaging and Palletizing Operations.
Work with Business Development, Business Solutions and Customer Experience Teams to gain working knowledge of marketing strategies, research and development processes, trade planning and customer service/customer interactions.
Extensive hands on interaction with the Order Assembly Team on all shifts to gain an understanding of product flow, inventory management, Jobber product process, raw materials receiving, samples processing, reverse logistics and overall order fulfillment processes.
In addition, interact with the Facilities & Maintenance, Tech Services and other support functions as they relate to warehousing operations.
Gain an understanding of 3PL cold storage operations while analyzing the differences between a true 3PL operation as it compares to a Distribution Center - including but not limited to activities, systems, staffing and cost structure.
Involvement in all aspects of dispatch and scheduling for both delivery and live haul. Ride along on a delivery and learn how dispatch, back office processes, safety management/compliance and fleet services are integrated.
The second 90 days will include more specific training in one of these defined areas of Supply Chain, depending on the team member's skill set and the area of greatest need. Upon reaching the 6 month mark of employment, the team member will then be placed into a permanent position within the defined area. Upon successful completion of this Leadership Development Program, the team member will also have the opportunity to be nominated to participate in the Company's Leadership Academy which includes monthly business acumen training and exposure to the entire Clemens Food Group, as well as learning principles of great leadership.
