    Responsibilities

    SUMMARY

    The primary purpose of this position is to oversee all aspects of facility operations and maintenance at the Emmaus, PA production facility.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    • Responsible for running an efficient Maintenance department.
    • Responsible for keeping the plant equipment running at peak efficiency; must make recommendations for improvement on a proactive basis.
    • Required to function and manage effectively under breakdown and deadline pressures.
    • Must possess the ability to repair and/or train others how to repair almost anything in the plant.
    • Must have knowledge of the plant equipment, computers/automated systems, and electronics.
    • Keeps upper management informed of the status of progress or any issues that affect the operation of the facility.
    • Must adhere to a rotating on-call schedule and assign on-call duties to direct reports to respond to machine malfunctions or emergency maintenance/facilities needs, during off-shift hours.
    • Responsible for completing all KPIs
    • Must be a safe worker and follow all safety policies and procedures.
    • Focus on monitoring/improving Technician performance and all safety practices.
    • Responsible for employee morale, maintaining staffing levels, adhering to corrective action procedures, employee training and development, shop improvement, etc.
    • Required to be self-motivated, lead by example, and possess the basic management skills necessary for this job.
    • Must be dependable and have a positive professional attitude by setting forth a positive image as a management team member.
    • Must satisfy the needs of superiors through excellent and prompt service.
    • Must have good communication skills and have a courteous and friendly personality.
    • Expected to support, follow, and enforce upper management's wishes, decisions, and policies.
    • Maintains knowledge of all updated or new trade topics, concepts, and equipment.
    • Performs other duties as directed by management.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • This job supervises a team of non-exempt maintenance and electronics technicians.

     

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) preferred and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior management experience strongly preferred.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers/vendors and other employees.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to cold temperatures (30 - 35 degrees). The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

     

    Must wear all required PPE, including but not limited to:

    * Steel-toed boots

    * Hearing protection

    * Hard hat
