    Responsibilities

     

    Must be a safe worker and follow all safety policies and procedures.

     

    Is responsible for running an efficient Maintenance department.

     

    Focuses on monitoring/improving Technician performance; safety is very important.

     

    Is responsible for employee morale, staffing levels, disciplinary measures, employee training and development, shop improvement, etc.

     

    Keeps the plant equipment running at peak efficiency; makes recommendations for its improvement is essential.

     

    Is required to be self-motivated, lead by example, and possess the basic management skills necessary for this job.

     

    Is required to function effectively under breakdown and deadline pressures.

     

    Is able to fix or show others how to fix almost anything in the plant.

     

    Must have knowledge of the plant equipment, computers/automated systems, and electronics.

     

    Is dependable and has a positive professional attitude by setting forth a positive image for management and satisfying their needs through excellent service.

     

    Must have good communication skills and have a courteous and friendly personality.

     

    Is expected to support, follow, and enforce upper management's wishes, decisions, and policies.

     

    Keeps upper management informed of the status of progress or any issues that affect the department.

     

    Is loyal to the trade and to management.

     

    Is required to get the job done as well as develop and improve Technicians.

     

    Stays updated with new trade topics, concepts, and equipment.

     

    Performs other duties as necessitated by change or conditions or under direction of management.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) preferred and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability and willingness to recognize and respond to new concepts
    • Excellent written/verbal communication/presentation skills.
    • Multi-task oriented and a team player.
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture.
    • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills (proficiency in MS Access a plus).
    • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Lead through example.
    • Must possess a Quality Attitude.
