    Responsibilities

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    Position is responsible to assist the Director of Warehousing in planning, directing and coordinating the activities and operations of the Clemens Food Group warehousing entities. Position requires a strong leader who can manage and direct the overall operation by setting a vision and goals for each department along with tools to measure performance and drive continuous improvement. Position requires someone who is enterprising along with possessing strong communication and team building skills.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

     

    • Direct and coordinate activities of CFG warehousing and distribution needs.
    • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
    • Ensures all equipment and machinery are accounted for and properly maintained.
    • Ensures all records are monitored and reported on in a timely basis.
    • Ensures areas are neat, clean, and orderly at all times.
    • Assist in the development, direction and coordination of department’s functional and capital budget activities to fund operations, optimize assets and increase efficiency.
    • Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives and procedures, conferring with organization leadership across all departments and areas.
    • Determines staffing requirements, interviews, hires and trains new employees, or oversees those personnel processes.
    • Continually seeks to build and improve the team through utilization of CFG’s Continuous Improvement process and through aggressive performance management.
    • Systematically cultivates and maintains long-term, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and with selected organizations to achieve mutual goals while ensuring clarity, understanding and commitment.
    • Keeps up to date on technology, trends and issues affecting the industry and develops strategies to address these issues.
    • Acts as a representative and ambassador to the local community to promote positive relationships and strong partnerships for the benefit of the organization.
    • Facilitates the development, maintenance and monitoring of organizational plans.
    • Monitors vendors to ensure they effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits.
    • Develops innovative initiatives to enhance internal efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Must learn and understand in-house inventory/production software
    • Must be able to work fluctuating hours as needed to facilitate production demands.

     

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Must have moderate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite products(primarily Outlook, Word and Excel).

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA or Masters degree in Supply Chain preferred but not required
    • Three to seven years of warehousing experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Previous experience managing and leading a team
    • Perishables distribution center experience preferred

     LANGUAGE and COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
    • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

    REASONING ABILITY

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
