The Senior Business Manager is responsible for:
Talent Management - Priority 1 - 20% of Time 


  • Hire, onboard and develop Retail Business Managers
  • Perform performance reviews with direct reports. Reward exceptional performance and address opportunities on an individual basis
  • Work with team 1:1 in order to review progress, coach, and give feedback where necessary
  • Establish on-boarding plan for new department team members
  • Identify the hard and soft skills needed in roles and effectively coach team towards improvement
  • Identify and establish a talent pipeline through the LDP or other methods
  • Ensure team resources are aligned in order to execute on expectations of Clemens Food Group and maximize business results

Performance Management - Priority 2 - 25% of Time 

  • Lead Senior Leadership Bi-Weekly Channel Meeting
  • Review and Approve Quarterly Trade Plans
  • Collaborating with BMs on customer specific Business Reviews
  • Prioritize and coordinate team's activities
  • Hold BMs accountable and the business for forecast accuracy
  • Hold BMs accountable and provide visibility on channel initiatives
  • Utilize department metrics to challenge team and drive improvement of team's results
  • Establish and monitor KPIs of team. Identify and implement corrective action when off-track
  • Evaluate Retail Business Management activities to ensure progress and work with team to address gaps
  • Challenge and collaborate monthly with Retail Business Managers on Business results of top Retail Customers
  • Monitor the results and challenge appropriately on customer specific accrual balances

Process Improvement - Priority 3 - 45% of Time 

  • Creating, reviewing & approving Standard Operating Procedures for department
    driving Trade Planning Maximization
  • Ensure tools and templates are built to allow for efficient execution of annual planning process
  • Lead, manage and continuously improve the retail trade planning process
  • Collaborate with Sales Analytics on Annual Budgeting Process
  • Lead effort of Retail Team to address Inventory issues
  • Establish process for ensuring forecast accuracy for the Retail Team
  • Collaborate with team and cross-functional group in order to recommend departmental initiatives
  • Communicating the vision and ensuring execution for departments and participate in Performance Excellence process to continually evolve
  • Identify service platform desired from Sales Finance in regards to Customer specific accrual balance
  • Align priorities and develop action plans to ensure optimal customer service
  • Ensure effectiveness of commercialized retail products


Team CFG - Priority 4 - 10% of Time 

  • Train and coordinate cross-functional groups as needed
  • Participate in Job Definition and Profile Process
  • Participate in cross functional task forces as available
  • Participate and inspire team to participate in Leadership Development Programs


  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2 years of business management experience strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years of management experience preferred
