    Responsibilities

     The Food Service Business Development Director- Sysco exists to execute on our solution selling approach to deepen Sysco  partnership that will lead to new business with food service establishments and to develop business opportunities with large independent and multi unit accounts within the Midwest territory.    


    Account Development - Priority 1 - 45% of Time

    • Calling on assigned Sysco Opcos within the midwest territory 
    •  Target and cultivate leads with operators and MAs
    • Participate in social events with strategic customers.
    • Participate in distributor sales meetings, food shows, etc for strategic customers.
    • Participate in industry events and use networking principles to open new avenues for growth.
    • Execute best in class MA and broker training on pork products
    • Lead the development and recommendation for new distribution.
    • Prepare for distributor and operator calls.

    Regional Performance Management - Priority 2 - 35% of Time  

    • Participate in weekly regional conference call.
    • Participate in weekly 1:1 coaching call with Executive Business Development Director.
    • Review marketing program performance and future expectations.
    • Conduct quarterly customer performance review.
    • Comply with CRM reporting.
    • Gather market intelligence pricing and forecast information.
       

    Team CFG Priority 3 - 10% of Time  

    • Develop CFG product knowledge / competency and product application.
    • Develop sales knowledge / competency and sales close techniques.
    • Practice solution selling weekly.
    • Develop industry acumen.
    • Participate in CFG-sponsored leadership programs.
    • Attend and actively participate in all CFG sales meetings.
    • Participate in annual planning process.
       

    Administration - Priority 4 - 10% of Time  

    • Manage travel and expense reporting and submit request for reimbursement.
    • Plan travel and schedule reservations for airline, lodging ,etc.
    • Update and set personal schedule for the week.
    • Submit check requests for customer programs.
    • Coordinate issue resolution.
    • Approve Distributor Sales Rep sample requests.

    Qualifications

    Position Qualifications:


    •  Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred
    •  Minimum of 5-7 years experience in Foodservice sales

    •  Experience managing awarded categories with Sysco strognly preferred

     

    •  Ability and willingness to recognize and respond to new concepts
    •  Excellent written/verbal communication/presentation skills
    •  Multi-task oriented and a team player
    •  Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture
    •  Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills preferred
    •  Ability to travel from time to time
    •  Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
    •  Lead through example 
    •  Must possess a positive attitude
