The Vice President and General Manager of the NAE Pork Segment is the leader of Clemens Food Group’s NAE pork segment.  This individual is responsible for strategic planning, managing the P&L, and ensuring overall execution of the business plan for this growth segment within Clemens Food Group. 


Strategic Planning


 Lead strategic planning process to achieve growth objectives and meet brand positioning targets (Build Business Plan)

 Develop the overarching go-to market strategy for the segment

 Prepare annual budget for NAE pork segment

 Set and communicate goals associated with operating plans

Collaborate with Sales VPs on establishing Fiscal Year Sales Budgets

Collaborate with Marketing VP on establishing Marketing Budget

 Execute regular competitive assessments, and determine implications for CFG

 Execute regular marketplace assessment (customer, channels, etc.), and determine implications for CFG

 Work with Operations, R&D, and Commercialization team on long-term capability requirement

 Communicate S&OP activities to sales and marketing teams as it relates to underutilized primals to inform innovation and pipeline development.

 Ensure continued differentiation between branded program and product offerings and private label / customer programs/products

 Work with live production team on long-term hog supply goals


Segment Development

 Identify & generate segment insights (product, customer, competition)

 Be a Subject Matter Expert resource for key account development & management

 Collaborate with Sales & Marketing on the go-to market strategy and key customer/segment targets

 Collaborate with Sales on Pipeline size, quality, and close rate

 Collaborate with Marketing on tactics needed to hit sales objectives; identify channel efficiencies

 Provide NAE category expertise and training to internal & external stakeholders

 Lead in the development of pricing goals/guidelines and margin targets

 Provide input  on marketing tactics based on brand and customer strategies



Performance Management

  Own the P&L for the NAE pork segment at CFG

 Develop and ensure KPIs are in place to manage the segment

 Manage the day to day business of the NAE Pork segment at CFG

 Manage co-pack relationships to ensure product and performance meets brand standards

 Prepare for and lead NAE Steering Team meetings

 Ensure Carcass utilization programs and monitoring are in place and managed

 Ensure a disappearance plan is in place by channel

 Prepare Bi-weekly Flash report

 Prepare and manage functional budget

 Work with live production team to ensure short and long-term hog supply


Talent Management

  Lead weekly priority meetings with team

 Coach and educate direct reports

 Meet with direct reports to review individual plan progress

 Establish succession plan

 Meet with direct reports to review longer term personal growth development

 Build network to develop pipeline of future talent for CFG


Team CFG

  Engage with Steering Team members for input

 Attend and participate in Food Service staff meetings as needed

 Attend and participate in Customer Solutions leadership meeting

 Attend and participate in CVFF hog production staff meeting as needed

 Attend and participate in Retail staff meeting as needed

 Attend and participate in Fresh staff meeting as needed

 Attend and participate in Supply Chain staff meeting as needed


Bachelor's degree required

Advanced degree preferred

10+ years experience in the meat & poultry business

Experience in the NAE segment required
