Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicate with material management
  • Track the detail of daily department performance
  • SIC tracking
  • Locate pallets in Order Assembly (rework product)
  • Re-label or re-date product as needed
  • Drive lowboy or fill in on the line as needed
  • Perform periodic temperature, leaker and burst tank checks
  • Submit work requests
  • Train team members
  • Learn & specialize machinery and equipment
  • Fill in for breaks
  • Perform regular quality checks and drive improvement of quality/efficiency in the room
  • Make sure that all employees are following SOPs and safety rules
  • Verify that everything is put away at the end of the day
  • Verify the schedule and plan accordingly to make sure that all orders are met
  • Ensure product flow in and out of productions rooms
  • Manage staging of products for smooth transition
  • Manage product flow to maximize efficiencies
  • Identify, communicate and assist in identifying/resolving process deviations and other process related issues
  • Assist in data entry for overall department performance trending
  • Utilize Avantis work order system to communicate PIT and other trades issues
  • Understanding and working knowledge of systems, including (but not limited to) ERP, Portean, Accusort, etc
  • Order supplies as needed

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Must have the ability to:

  • Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
