As the Lab Team Lead, you will support daily laboratory operations to meet food safety and quality assurance of CFG products, by ensuring timely testing and accurate data reporting.  This position has the authority to take action necessary to carry out duties and responsibilities of this position and act as a backup for the laboratory manager in their absence.

Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring daily activities in support of laboratory operations, to include maintaining supply inventory, scheduling testing, and directing tasking of laboratory personnel

Maintains laboratory equipment, practices and SOPs

Leads problem solving and troubleshooting efforts to maintain flow of lab operations

Provides training, awareness and mentorship for laboratory personnel

Collaborates with internal and external customers and provides technical support to meet their needs

Reviews all test data and provides analytical support

Generates and provides customer reports, COAs, etc

Leads experimental design for special projects and shelf life studies

Responsible for SAP master data in support of laboratory operations and customer needs

Attend and participate in key operations, FSQA and CFG meetings to represent the Lab manager or personal development opportunities

Qualifications

Master's degree from a four year college or university required; with a concentration in scientific discipline

1-2 years industry laboratory experience

 

SAP experience

1+ Years of management or leadership experience is preferred

Familiarity with chemistry and microbial equipment and methods  (including CEM, AA spectroscopy, ISE probes,  immunoassay, etc)

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ability to lift 25-40 lbs

Must wear appropriate laboratory PPE

Exposed to typical aromas associated with food microbiology laboratory

Willing to work overtime and weekends

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
