Regulatory Affairs & Labeling
Provide support to Regulatory Manager for label, nutritional, & compliance requirements.
Provide formula & process review for adherence to regulatory standards & compliance.
Become proficient in Genesis nutritional software; develop ingredient & nutritional statements for new or revised products.
Verify that USDA label approval matches the label prior to printing
Provide direction to purchasing on go-ahead to print labels
Attach generic approval and label image to Resource in ERP system
Create labels within labeling system (EZLabel, Label view)
Verify accuracy of translations on labels
Submit labels to USDA and follow up on label submissions
Prepare & complete generic label approvals on new & revised products.
Maintain Regulatory electronic database, label approval file, and completed label file.
Verify graphics on boxes (keep refrigerated, safe handlings, USDA bugs)
Ensure accuracy of labels received from outside parties (ingredient statements and nutritional claims)
Set up Accusort Information with ERP system
Provide support for ongoing sales & customer technical information requests & GDSN activities & inquiries
Prepare test labels for Product Development Samples
Provide support with the channel, sales, & commercialization teams for regulatory documentation & needs
Complete child nutrition formulation sheets
Review & prepare information for GDSN customer (specification) portals.
Rectify discrepancies between Protean, Generic Approvals, Genesis & One Page Specifications
Be a resource to respond to customer technical & regulatory requests
Perform formula checks for regulatory adherence of restricted ingredients
Conduct new Item Shelf Life Testing (execute testing protocol, sample creation, data entry and analysis
Execute testing and development of new fresh or value added pork items.
Execute data collection and evaluation of new products in connection with production launch
Identify & prepare new raw & finished product specifications.
Verify first production runs and customer-specific requirements
Prepare customer samples of in-development products
Coordinate testing ingredients with vendors for new ingredients.
Prepare and conduct samples for sensory testing
Write the summary reports, recommendations, and initial conclusions from the tests conducted.
Provide input on equipment selections impacting product or process
Participate in and provide support for customer meetings and visits
Participate and provide technical support for sales competitive product reviews
Provide technical support to sales team
Provide input on opportunities for research that would provide cost reduction, customer value, or primal utilization
Attend and participate in Level 1 and 2 initiatives as subject matter expert when required
Attend and participate in bi-weekly R&D staff meeting
Provide technical support to team members within R&D & other departments
Attend webinars on regulatory updates and position-related best practices
Support the training & usage of Genesis Nutritional Software within R&D and FSQA.
|The knowledge of basic animal science, food science, biology or other agricultural science experience developed through BS, MS or other related experience.|
|Basic computer skills for excel, word, access, and power point.|
|3-5 Years of Food R&D, quality or food safety and /or exposure to Food Regulations is preferred|
|Must be a self starter|
